A colleague was looking for a product for a customer and was scanning random routers,
we were shocked to find that the Linksys wireless G router is priced at £8.97
low in stock, but its clearance stuff so be quick..

I flew down to PC World this morning looking for these, but they were all at around £55.
I think they were the later models, you model linked above is a great router for modifying. It runs Linux.

People are missing the point, the WRT54G third-party firmware can do a ton of extra/extended features, if your up to flashing your hardware that is.0

Don't be so hasty to pick up a WRT54G new if you want to reflash anything; the latter versions of it all feature lesser flash mem and ram and will only run stripped down versions of custom firmware (by deault they use a much leaner VXWorks os). Anything v4.0 or lower is much better (preferably a WRT54GL - all are WRT54G v4.0s). I've never seen anything that old in PC World (i did spend a while looking for one a year or so ago)
