Epilator gone blunt?

Hi,
I was wondering whether anyone else who uses epilators has noticed that the tweezers have gone kind of blunt over the time?
I am not sure whether it is just me or whether my epilator really is not working as well as it used to.
Anyone else experienced that?
Thanks.

I can't say I have,I still have one I bought about 12 years ago and it still works fine.No matter what, nothing seems to kill it off. It's a Braun by the way.0

Yes!!! I have been thinking mine has not been working as it should for some time now - doesn't get the fner hairs out anymore.
is it me or have they shot up in price though? that's what keeps me persevering with the blunt one!0 -
I wondered if mine had too, but then thought I must be imagining it
Think I might get a new one soon as mine's about 6 years old.0 -
No, I bought a Babylis one over 20 years ago and it's still fine (and I do my armpits, which they don't recommend). Make sure it's clean and, if it's rubbish, buy a new one.Debt at highest: £6,290.72 (14.2.1999)

TBh I bought a new one recently, paid a lot of money for it(braun silk epil) and its rubbish compared to my old one (phillips satin ice)0

You're not shaving the dog with it are you?
blunt epilator sounds painful.
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -
The tweezers can get a bit 'clogged' and sticky - skin oils etc. just use the small cleang brush or any old blusher (clean) brush dipped in aftershave. that's what i do!
I still have my 'oringinal' Epilator (the one with the spiral springs) - still works! Had the braun silk epil which didn't last long (i broke it open and found it clogged, which i why it stopped working) and have been using the PHillips one - with a rubber teeth thing that apparently lessen's the pain - can;t see much difference but it's going well (touch wood!) .0 -
My Still works OK. It might need a bit of a clean. Can you take the head off and give it a good clean out?

Mine is several years old and no longer picks up the fine hairs.
I would like to start using mine on my armpits but have been to afraid to because of the pain.
When you first did your armpits how painful was it and did you do anything, preperation wise, before hand.0
