Any advice for those young, first time buyers of us who purchased during the property boom and have mortgages of over £1100 a month?!?!?!?

Piece of advice though: keep your head low if anybody's struggling with their mortgage... a lot of seemingly normal people are owing whopping £150-300k mortgages out there!!! That's a lifetime of worry!

I have a mortgage of £193k, I'm definately normal, but don't find I'm worrying about it. If I was worried about it my DH wouldn't have given up work a few months ago to look after our son. We aren't actively paying it off in double quick time just yet, but will be in a year or so with any luck.

Please remember it is each to their own. Just because you find that too much, there are people who would rather struggle a bit at the beginning but know that once they have paid it off that's it. We were in our forever house by the time I was 27 (a 4 bed detached) so don't have a problem with having £193k to pay off, I know we can do it and sooner that the mortgage is planned.

I say well done too, it must be a great feeling, if others have huge mortgages then that's their issue and no-one forced them to take on the mortgage.

Hope you have a few celebrations and I'll hopefully be joining you in 10 years time!
