Now when i go to set the arms in the position i would like to recline they just slip straight down to the bottom position ! This now only gives one position (fully reclined).
Can i get them changed or is it to long since i bought them ?
I dont have the receipt anymore.
I think they should really last for longer than 2 years bearing in mind i hardly used them last year !

This information is actually very wrong.
These items are covered by the Sale of Goods Act 1979 and it's amendments. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/consumer-rights-refunds-exchan
However the big question is how long do you think a reasonable person would think sun recliners would last?
And can you prove that you didn't leave them outside in the evenings, in the rain or cold weather?
If you can prove the second question then you may have a case against Argos but you also need to prove you or whoever else used them didn't break them and that you brought them from Argos in the first place.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

You could try taking them back - you've got nothing to lose, but I think the fact you don't have your receipt anymore would mean Argos won't refund or replace the item regardless of how long you've had the item, unless there's a barcode/sticker/label with Argos on it somewhere.
Scour that item with a magnifying glass !;)0 -
...I have to say, I wouldn't have thought the SOG thing would fly in this case..I wouldn't have thought a sunlounger's expected to last more than a summer or two...unless they were really expensive ones?0

I cannot begin to describe how people like you annoy me and make my job hard.

If they are branded loungers (e.g. Atlantic) then go to the manufacturer's website and see if they offer any advice, but since you have no proof of purchase this may be hard to come by. Where did you store them when you were not using them? If they were stored in their original boxes and stored correctly then you may have a claim against the manufacturer, but if for example you just stacked them in your garage or loft the company could say that in effect you have 'misused' the item by not storing them properly.
Hope this helps.[DISCLAIMER: Any posts made by myself are my opinions and do not represent my employer]
