Readers digest getting nasty - honest

I almost know the answer to this but have still got to ask. Can readers Digest send me letters threatening to take legal action for a bill of £13 for a magazine subscription?. It's not even as if I have received all the mags yet. I was a member for a year and did enjoy having the books but a combinattion of laziness a hectic lifestyle and absent mindedness meant that I never got around to paying for this years subscription or even re-newing it for that matter. Yet they sent a couple of books and are now getting really nasty with threatenening letters. Can they really enforce their threats? I would like to phone them and tell them where to stick their mags but would like to know my rights first.

Overdrawn - firstly ignore the Poo poster its commonly known in these parts as a troll. I have reported them anyway.
Readers Digest aren't the nicest of people at the best of times. I once took out a subscription with them and when I cancelled they harangued me with letters.
I would write to them explaining that you haven't received all the books that you ordered and that you are cancelling your subscription with immediate effect. If you haven't received all the books then they are in breach of contract for failing to supply.

Do it and welcome to the forum - I have noticed that you only joined last month.
There's plenty of good advice to be found on here. I have noticed too that you're not too far away from me - just the other side of the M42 in fact.0
