Funny 'Abbey Letter'

Hello all

For your amusement (after my amusement of succesfully getting back £2,500 in charges off the Abbey) here is a quick cut-down version of a letter I recieved this morning from them!!

(this was for a D/D of £13.99)

Dear Mr and Mrs **********

I'm writing to tell you that you did'nt have enough money in your account to cover one or more Direct Debits..blah blah blah

(here's the best bit)

"On this occasion, we did not agree to give you an Instant Overdraft to cover the direct debit.
You will be charged Instant Overdraft request fee(s) for considering your request(s)

We will let you know how much you'll have to pay in your next statement.smile.gif

Perhaps I should Charge them, for considering whether or not to pay the amount charged by them, for considering whether to charge me for something I never got??:D

answers on a postcard please?

    Here's my reply

    Dear Ms Robertson<O:p</O:p

    Ref:- a/c ********************
    <O:p></O:p>
Thank you for your letter dated 6th May 2008, regarding the Direct Debit for £13.99 which, although you considered, you were unable to pay.<O:p</O:p
Please furnish the amount of the fee I have to pay, in relation to your consideration as to whether to supply a service, which I never asked for, and for which you never supplied.<O:p</O:p
    <O:p</O:p
Unfortunately, after consideration of whether to pay the fee or not when it arrives, we have decided not to pay it, and will charge you for considering your request.<O:p</O:p
    <O:p</O:p
We will let you know how much you’ll have to pay, as soon as you furnish the amount you have decided we have to pay.<O:p</O:p
    <O:p</O:p
It’s a good idea to go back under the fee amount we will charge you as soon as you can, as you will be charged an Instant fee non-payment of the payment request charge, and interest (if unlike me, you have any interest left) <O:p</O:p
    <O:p</O:p
If you don’t have the money to put into our account just now, or if you have any other questions, please give us a call.<O:p</O:p
