Reclaiming other mortgage fees

Hello,
I wanted to ask about reclaiming mortgage fees, although i understand what MEAFs are what i want to know is whether i can reclaim any other charges my mortgage lender has charged me? I have just remortgaged and i was with my last mortgage lender for nearly 7 years, over these 7 years i have been charged for returned direct debits by my mortgage lender as well as my bank. The bank charged me £35 and my mortgage lender has also charged me £35 for each returned direct debit. I will be reclaiming from my bank but i don't know whether i should reclaim these charges from my mortgage lender!
Please someone help, thankyou.

    no.

You cannot reclaim the MEAF either. That is not what the issue is about. The issue is that the MEAFs were given as an amount when you took the mortgage out and some lenders increased the amounts very quickly over the years and it has been deemed that the increases were unfair. Not the MEAF itself.

Unlike overdraft charges, the mortgage side has typically been packed as admin charges to cover non-payment rather than penalty charges. So, there has been far less success in getting these refunded and some posters on here who have tried and even gone to court over them have found the court ruled against them and lumped them with costs as well.
