80GB Western Digital External Hard Disk - £49.99

Not sure if this is a brilliant price but here goes.

Staples (UK) has 80GB External WD Drives for £49.99. I didn't see this in store, and I can't find it online, but I saw it on a leaflet that came through the door.

Maybe you can pop down to your local store and see! Western Digital are good drives IMO. It was at something like £100 before so it's a good 50% off!!

Matt.

I thought it was a great buy, just what I needed, however they are not getting many in each store and as Matty says it's not on line. WD are a very reliable brand and 80gb is just fine for backing up my business and personal laptops and my music collection.:j

  • I have been to our local Staples in Hermiston Gait, Edinburgh about half a dozen times in the last few weeks with no joy. Particularly galling as I had £5 voucher which has now expired!

I'm afraid it doesn't represent good value when you can get a 250GB ext USB2 drive from the likes of e-buyer for £95 plus delivery.

Staples also have a 250gb for £95 but it wasn't a name I had heard of, 80gb was fine for my needs so to spend twice the amount would have been silly. ;)

I was put off usb drives to completely rely on a few months back when the one I had went corrupt and lost all the data from it plus the usb itself. I still use them but I wouldnt feel safe spending money on a big one to back up important stuff. Apparently it happens sometimes

Cant see anything advertising the Aldi offer I'd be interested n that but it might be incorrect information. Its not on thier site or in any of the emails they have sent me. Anyone know anything about it?
    Thanx
