Any thoughts?
Is it suitable for six year olds?
I was thinking of doing it for my son's party. He will be six. The other kids should mostly be six already (given that it's June). They will be about 75% boys I guess, probably about 20 kids in total.
He hasn't done it before

i know that my son who is a little older than 6 loves lazer quest. why not take your son beforehand to try it and see. You just go in with the other kids and they get taught how to shoot etc. That way if he is capable then you havent wasted a lot of money on a lazer quest party that is really not suitable for 6 yr olds. bettcha he will love it though.0

I'm sorry, i'll be labelled un trendy but i dont think its suitable for a six year old. My 10 year old nephew had his party there. I went in to look and its dark, cold noisy and smokey. My son is going to be 5 so maybe a year will make a difference but i wouldnt have him in there.
Go by your instincs, i agree you have to go and see how you feel about it before booking a very expensive party if your son hates it.0 -
Save it for when he is older, little boys can ten pin bowl tho i would choose soft play or inflatables for this age group, then bowling or cinema then swimming (over 8 here cos of rules) and laser til at least ten0

I agree with Destiny, sorry. I think 6/7 is too young for this kind of thing, let them be kids with kiddy things. Lord know he'll be a teenager soon enough and will love it then.
Bowling is a good suggestion, most kids love that.Herman - MP for all!0 -
I'm a 21 year old extreme sports junkie, but even then, I would have to agree with the above posters. Lazer quest can get pretty competative and at 6yrs old, that automatically means tears if i remember my own childhood :rolleyes2 . (and the zones can be pretty intimidating at that age)
Go with bowling, most places have ramps for the kids to use in case you were wondering how they'd manage. And the most important part for a kids party......
Sugar. It's not a kids party unless they're all as high as kites on E numbers.Man walks into a bar and orders 12 whiskeys. He starts knocking them back one after the other. The barman says, 'Hey, slow it down pal, theres no rush'. 'If you had what I've got, you be drinking fast too.' The barman is concerned and asks the man what he has. The man replies,'Seventy pence.'0 -
I think lazerquest is a little "old" for a six year old, the room can be rather dark and they sometimes put "smoke" into the room
.... how about bowling, cinema or hiring the local swimming pool.
Enjoy your party!"Do not look back and grieve over the past, for it is gone, and do not be troubled about the future, for it has yet to come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering"0 -
I agree that it is too old for a 6 year old, while your son might cope you don't know how the others would cope with it. I would definitely leave it until he is older. Thanks for the advice Martin! :money:Member no. 920 - Proud to be dealing with our debts0

My local one has height restrictions due to the size and weight of the packs.
And I know that most of my son's classmates parents are way too PC for guns... had a few sniffs at 'water guns' in my DS1's party bags, I kid you not!
Best thing to do is simply call up your lazer quest and ask them, they may do parties for younger ones, you never know.0 -
oh no, my DS2 is 7 and has been inviter to Laser Quest party next weekend - should I be prepared for tears??0

as a scout leader.. we take scouts, and the older cubs.. ages from 9 upwards.. but we will never take beavers (6-8) cos it was disastrous when we did.. half of them refused to go in, one chucked his gun at his friend over an argument as to who was dead, and three ended up crying... sorry to be bearer of bad tidings, but at 6 theyd probably enjoy bowling or soft play, or a rip to a suitable movie a lot more...0
