made payment plan, but credit file shows missed payments still

Hi, I got into 4 arrears a last November with my Mortgage company. I came to an arrangement with them in December to pay the usual monthly Mortgage payment, plus an extra 100 pounds on top until the debt is paid off. I have done this (in fact above and beyond, as I've paid more than an extra 100 pounds each time).
BUT my credit files say I have missed payments for last 7 months. I questioned the mortgage company about this, and they mentioned that as im still in areas, it will always show as missed payments until the arrears are paid off. This is frustrating, as im trying to repair my credit rating.
Is this right, are they allowed to do this? Its very frustrating.

Hi ric
I have had a bit of a search and can't find the answer, but am sure I have seen this question before. If you get no joy this evening it could be worth a call to nationaldebtline.co.uk to see what they say.
I *think* that technically they do show as arrears until cleared but I wouldn't rely on my advice. That said you can ask for a note to be added to the file to explain something that is on there, creditors don't have to take account of it but they may. Are you likely to need to get credit soon??£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)
