6' X 4' PVC Greenhouse(homebase) £30

Just been to homebase this morning looking for a PVC greenhouse and they are selling off their stock of PVC greenhouses for £30 reduced from £39 reduced from £50.We bought 2.They have metal frames and staging along one side so are a bargain. You peg them down with tent pegs(supplied) and they have 4 tent ropes for bracing the corners. One door flap at the short end.

Not bad! Argos also have a 6X4 PVC Greenhouse for £24.99. Use the stock checker to see if there are any left at your local store!

I want a greenhouse !!! But not a PVC one. My last one blew away in the storms and ended up three doors down the street !!
Anyone know of any special offers on "real" greenhouses anywhere?
  • Buy one second hand from your local paper - they are usualy very cheap, my friend got one a few weeks ago free if she collected it.

How about a rigid PVC greenhouse from www.norfolk-greenhouses.co.uk ? These are much more durable than the ones in either Homebase or Argos and as they are designed to be bolted down to concrete slabs there's no fear that your new greenhouse will blow away! They look just like a traditional greenhouse, but don't have the hassle of real glass i.e. no glass breakages and they're cheaper and lighter to transport. Another bonus is that PVC panels are better insulators than glass, so they don't get as hot as glasshouses in the summer and don't get as cold as glasshouses in the winter! The only downside is that they are fiddly to assemble - this is not a problem if you enjoy a 'Meccano'-like challenge! - and also the plastic door hinge they used to have was flimsy (this should not be a problem with their current range as the doors have all been replaced with double sliding ones). You can order direct from the company, or through lx direct or tesco.com . The cheapest way would be to order through lx direct if you can find a £10 off and free P&P code for first-time orders, as this package also includes free staging and trays worth £20. Not quite as cheap as a free greenhouse, but still good value!!
