Trying to find my debt, but how?

I'm hoping someone amongst the boards will be able to give me a pointer on finding where my debt is.

I took out a loan 7 years ago with a national company who had an office locally. Shortly after I had an accident that involved spinal surgery and the whole upheaval including a house move during recovery has me wondering where this debt is. I'll admit there was a little burying of the head in the sand but I now need to find this debt as I've been legally advised to go bankrupt and need to submit all debts so none come back to haunt me.

I've tried local forums and asked businesses next door to the old office with no luck.

Any information would be greatfully received as I don't even remember the companies name!

Regards.

    Stop worrying.

The reason that the OR publishes the Bk details is so that creditors can make them selves known.

You do not need to know all this, "just I took out a loan 7 years ago with a national company who had an office locally but I cannot remember who".

Either the OR will find it or the credotor will get in touch if the debt is still valid.

Anyway, this may be statue barred if you have not paid for more than 6 years

    and

even if it comes out of the woodwork later, it is still covered by the bankruptcy. Just post the letter to the OR and they will deal with it.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing

Check a copy of your credit file - experien etc. These will list all the debts you owe

This is comforting to know RAS so thank you, but I really would like to leave the court house with a clean sheet knowing everything is taken care of. It'd niggle me knowing something out there is unresolved even knowing I could bounce any future contact towards the OR.

Thank you Welsh lass. This is what I'll probably do because of what I've outlined.

Thank you both. There's not many forums with such quick replies to the subject in hand but this is one. Kudos to the site owner....
