help- is a slow cooker supposed to do this!

bought a slow cooker yesterday(rosemary conley) i know everyone on here recommends MR, but i got it because of the 4lt size. any way just come back from DS footie and it,s puffing steam out of the side of lid. also the water has gone down an inch. i thought it was supposed to make more jiuce . can anyone let me know if theirs puffs steam.

Mine (MR) has a high setting on it dsigned to seal some meats before stewing - could you have been slow cooking too fast?!0

The liquid inside is supposed to form a seal as it condenses inside the lid. This helps to keep the juices inside and prevents the food drying out. I agree with the poster above. It sounds as though the lid either doesn't fit or isn't on properly.

im taking it back tomorrow and im going to exchange for the 6.5 MR. i just hate taking large items back, especially when you have to use the bus. just my luck. oh well it,s meant to be. i should have got the MR in the first place. thanks all.
