    Taken from Holiday Watchdog's forum.

Probably some on here too if you search.

"We were basically bombarded by these people with phone calls telling us that we had won a free holiday though a competition I had entered on the Internet (a competition I don't recall entering in the first place).
They were very persistent telling us "there's no catch" and all we have to do is turn up to a presentation for 2 hours to collect our prize where we would be informed about the location of the holiday and shown what kind of accommodation we could expect and all we had to pay was a £39 admin fee per person.

    What a load of garbage.

When we arrived we were told we could not collect the "free" holiday until the end of the presentation, which ended up lasting 4 hours. During the presentation all kind of techniques are used to try and get you to sign up, including in our case making inappropriate comments to my wife.

When we eventually got the "free" holiday information the cost has risen to £80 per person, which you have to pay within 7 days of the presentation. They choose the airport you fly from, they choose the destination and they choose when you will go.

Fortunately we did not sign up for the holiday club, and I don't see any point in sending them any money for this supposedly "free" holiday.

My wife has also phoned them to complain and has basically been told we were making up the whole story about being offered a "free" holiday in the first place.

OK we've been a bit naive, but these people are basically conning people into attending their presentations and then employing high preasure sales techniques once you're there.

I know I've waffled on a bit, so apologies for that, but if anyone else is thinking about going to one of these presentations, our advice is if it's Club la Costa steer well clear."

Probably best to give it a miss ;)

We were almost bullied into going to the presentation, let alone buying anything while we there. We decided that we wouldn't go, if they were like this about a 'free' presentation what on earth would they be like if we had gone?? The 'free' holiday vouchers were for holidays in term time so absolutely no good for us with school age children!
