Should be fine. Most limit to 75%-85% LTV. Shouldn't really be an issue anyway if this is the only mortgage in your name.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Thanks for the points you have been made. In actual fact my flat is only 10 minutes away from my family home and as my partner has a very stressful job he will stay there between 3 - 4 evenings a week so in effect I would say for 80 -90% of the time it is occupied and the utility bills are in my name but obvoiusly I have utility bills and my financial bills ie. bank account/credit cards etc are regsiterd at my family home. I would not pretend to a lender that it was my main residence as it does in fact show on my credit report my actual main residence. The building insurance is the lanldor'ds responsibility but I do have contents/fire etc cover in my/partners name would this be better in my sole name ?
Thanks again for all your assitance think I will definately go through a broker as there does appear alot to think about0 -

Homer what you say about insurance - my buildings is landlord's responsbility ie. local authority I have contents/fire etc in my name and partner as he spends lots of time there and if any of his belongings were stolen etc but would it be worth changing this policy into my sole name?
Thanks0
