why has my ppi been refunded to the account

after 5 months of writing letters to Welcome I have at long last recived a reply saying that although they do not agree with my assertions, they have as a gesture of goodwill refunded the full ppi plus interest.

however this has been refunded to my account which is the loan is on. Can I get any of this back by cheque. I took the loan out about 2.5 years ago , also they tell me that the repayments will not be changed.

Did you actually use your own money to pay for the ppi in the first place or was it added to the loan. I would be glad if its now taken off the loan as if in the first place you never had it. It would of reduced the amount you owe surely and the term of loan would be different. I am fighting ppi on a settled loan and would expect the money BACK in cheque. If i had not settled i wouldn't worry about it being taken off the loan at all. Well done for winning.

After 30 mins on the phone again today, I gave the details to a girl who said yes I should at least get the interest back by cheque and she would phone me back. Which she did not, four hours later I phone again and spoke to the most rude bloke , he were most upset that i even got it back in the first place, he informed me that it must come of the balance of the loan as well as the interest, as they paid it on my behalf. If I has cancelled it within 30 days of the start of the loan, then my monthly payments would have been reduced. He then said that the girl I spoke to earlier had no idea what she was talking about. To be honest I dont think they know what to say, anything to try and keep their money i reakon.
