Finally Admiting up to my debt worries!!!

Well done Caz...you've done well...not sure if you can do this but can you put the paperwork for the MBNA card to the top of the pile (or near to it) as the payment you're making to them suggests an extortionate amount of interest is being chucked in....

glad you brother's onside now....and you can focus your energy on doing the right thing for you rather than keeping up appearances for everyone!

Hi everyone,

thankyou again to everyone for your helpful messages and kind words of encouragement..

I have been unable to come on for a few days due to workmen cutting through cable and broadband being unavailable.

Firstly if iu could just clarify answers to some questions i have received:

• The water rates are high due to me cancelling the DD payment in March before it came out of the bank and only set it back up again at the end of April, with first payment to leave account in May and bacause of this payments were re-calculated.
• I also never took out any payment protection cover on any of my debts. And taking out a 0% credit card or swapping my debts is not really an option as my I need to pay the debts off not just swap them for new ones!!

Finally, just a brief update I have decided to go a DMP and although it will take years to pay off my debts I believe that this is the right option for me, especially as when I finish paying off my mortgage in a couple of years I will be able to double the amount I can pay back to my creditors. Also as circumstances change over time (and I start working more hours) I will be able to increase payments, thus reducing the debt quicker, as seems to have been the case reading several threads on the site..

I have to say I feel more positive about the future and the decision ive made whilst IVA may be suitable for some people I want to remember this hard lesson forever, and by choosing the DMP it will alow me to hold onto my house...:j
