Hi all..I bought one of those garden incinerators today..the one that looks like a dustbin with a chimney and was just wondering what i should do with the ashes in it when ive burnt some thing? I will only be burning garden waste and old rotten wood etc nothing toxic. Would it be ok to dig it into my borders in the garden?
Sorry if I sound thick but im a bit unsure.
Thanks Lucy

You'll probably be moved to the Greenfingered board soon, and I am no gardener. However listening to Gardener's Question Time, I've heard that some plants positively like ashes. And others don't!Signature removed for peace of mind0

Woodash is full of potash (potassium) which is needed by fruits and flowers. We've been putting ours around fruit trees for the past few years and have seen a marked improvement in cropping.:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0
