If you dont get any joy from the council then go down the muddy football route or better still just pour filthy water over the cars.
If that doesnt work it would be a real shame if some of the air in the tyres escaped somehow. Ive seen this be used to great effect before ;-D
Was gonna suggest similar:D
but didn't want to be naughty:D

My 8 year old has a nice habit of taking his bike to the street past my car and running the it up against the car:rolleyes: it would be a shame if that happened too, but kids will be kids:rolleyes:

I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -
Just remember that if a playful 8 year old damages a car, accidentally or not, it's the parents who have to pay for repairs. Happened to me a few years back when a play ful little girl (that's not what I called her!!!!) rammed a shopping trolley into my car. I had to go to the parents who told me where to go. Then got the Police etc etc and ended up having to go to the small claims court to get the money back. Now, if nobody sees the car getting damaged, then all power to you or your playful child!!!!!!0

What about phoning up the number on the card and seeing what the person says?
Maybe suggest that "some local kids often play football nearby" and you're worried incase their cars get damaged0 -

How is it any different from buying via a classified ad / Autotrader / eBay? I assume people aren't just wandering up to it and handing over their cash! :rotfl: I always put signs in the windows of my cars when I market them.Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
I had heard that someone is not considered a trader unless they sell/have more than 12 vehicles in 1 year. Perhaps someone could clarify, there must be a cut off point to differentiate those who just like to change car regularly or traders.0

You have no guarantee that the seller is who they say they are nor do you know where they live or anyting else about them if there is a problem. Many people have been caught out with stolen cars being sold from laybys.Badger_Lady wrote: »How is it any different from buying via a classified ad / Autotrader / eBay? In that case they are silly - when I buy a car "from a layby", I phone the number on the sign, arrange a meeting with the owner and carry out all the normal checks that would otherwise be carried out when buying a second-hand car  . I didn't realise people really do just buy them off the side of the road! :rotfl: That's as bad as sending a PayPal payment for a car on eBay!Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
UPDATE
Council only have jurisdiction over their land. BTW selling vehicles is not permitted and they will remove vehicles if the owner doesn't.
Laybys on/off a public road are under the jurisdiction of the DRD and selling of vehicles is NOT permitted. Said vehicles were reported to the DRD and have not been seen since - so result! :j :j0 -
great result well done!0
