Using a different name for applications

I am in the process of switching the surname I use professionally and was wondering what difficulties I'm likely to encounter in opening new bank accounts etc. All of my credit/bank facilities are currently under my old name though I'm in the process of changing these. Can I just apply to new bank accounts using my new surname?

You will need to provide them with your previous name too.

You can start using your new surname, however, as LV says, you'll need to declare your previous surname for verification purposes.
