LOL - wanting a free copy is abit different to wanting a copy with 30% discount!!!!
I've yet to receive any of the free books I've applied for. I suspect they give a handful out free and then keep everyone's email address for mailing purposes!0 -

I had an email too - cheeky ****** 30% exclusive discount indeed - easy just unsubscribe.0 -
cheeky so and so's is right....:rolleyes:All these years since I left school and I've never once had to use Algebra0

Yeah I have had the same as well.
I also signed up with harpercollins awhile ago and then send me surveys through every now and then. I have had a few free books from them for completing their surveys. No all the surveys offer a book and some are drawn from the first 50 or so respondants etc but I have had a few so can't complain.0 -
i got the same e-mail as the rest of you and after reading this topic earlier i just deleted the e-mail.
you are supposed to be getting a free book and then they have the cheek to charge GRRRRRRRRRRR0 -
Same here! I think it is a bit naughty! Random House this is your final day, unsubscribe, unsubscribe. ( My impression of a Dalek! Bad eh!!)
:j0 -
Just a thought and feel free to tell me to shut up but what about if we each send a standard letter (to randomhouse) complaing about this. You never know we get a free book or token from them.
Somthing along the lines of;
Dear Sir / Madam
I completely disgusted with your recent advertising where you initially asked if people would like a free advance copy and now you are only offering this book at a reduced rate.

I feel that this has been a direct ploy to enhance your marketing database without living up to your promises. As such I feel that this is false advertising and would like you reponse on this matter.
Should you fail to respond you will leave me with no alternative than to report RandomHouse to both Trading Standards and the Office of Fair Trading. My complaint to these organisations will made due to my belief that you are using deception and false advertising in order to attract people with no inteion of delivering on your promises.
I sincerely hope this can be avoided and I await your response.
I await your response.
Regards
Or do you think i'm being a bit harsh ?0 -
