soya mince in slowcooker?

I have bought some soya mince (the stuff you rehydrate). I am planning to mix it in with normal mince to make a large bolognaise sauce. My question is this. I usually just bung all the ingredients in the slow cooker and leave it on all day - can I just add the rehydrated soya mince to this at the start?

Thanks

Susan

Personally, I would add it in and add a little extra stock to stop it from drying out too much.

I normally rehydrate it in a little hot water-maybe with a stock cube in. Not really necessary-just bear in mind that a cup of soya expands to 2 to 3 cups approx when rehydrated. I sometimes rehydrate mine in a pan with chopped tomatoes instead of water-depending on the recipe Im using.

I rehydrate mine with a bit of marmite which is still veggie I think. Gives it a nice flavour. I love soya mince,, do hope it stays cheap. All the stuff I use for cheap meals has gone up in price eg. rice and pasta. Getting hard to find anything thats really economical in recipes!

I know Larmy, that's why I'm trying the soya mince.

So once it's hydrated I can just bung it in with the rest of the ingredients.

    Thanks
