Tuesday 6/05/08 What small dfw things have you done today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Today I will/have:
  • Check online banking
  • Clicks
  • storecupboard lunch
  • Make loaf in breadmaker
  • Spend £10 only on a small top up shop.
  • Do a little work on veg garden in lunch hour
  • List some books on amazon - text books from last OU course. Thanks for the reminder eternal optimist:D
Hi everyone:hello: :hello: :hello: have a good day. Back to work this morning but have enjoyed a relaxing weekend:D . Promises to be a fine day here today just waiting for the sun to break through properly. Doing a few hours babysitting tonight so will be adding another £20 to my interest beater challenge:D .

    Hi Everyone,

Today is a tricky one. So I have/am going to...

    1) Not spend any money :)
    2) Have a packed lunch
    3) Drive 300 miles for work trying to be as economical as possible on the diesel.

SophiesMum - do you sell the OU Set Texts (i.e. the ones you have to buy) or the Course Books (the ones they send us)?

    Have a good one.

I sell the set texts for the course and get quite a lot of what I spent back, they are usually still in really good condition. I have seen some of the Course books for sale in the OU Sesame magazine smallads but never sold any of mine.

There are a lot of OU students on this thread by the sound of it:D :D

    I haven't dropped in for a few days - the joys of a lie-in!

    Today:
    - DW on as fully stacked, shall wash up by hand as needed until the next full load. We use it 3 times weekly.

    - WM on (30 degrees)and full of bedding as it is a good drying day here:j

    - store cupboard lunch, dinner from freezer planned

    - have done my quidco clicks and the Pigsback comps (no clickthrough again:rolleyes: but shall check later)

    - going out for a walk to enjoy the sun but shall keep an eye out for coins (17p found this month, £5.60 so far this year!)

Update: found 6p (5p & 1p) but still no piggy clicks
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.

Today, I have cut the bottom off my facial scrub. Even though I thought I had squeezed every last wash out of it, I am shocked to find at least another week's worth lurking.
