It is my first day of a new job today - I am in the city centre so need to resist spending!

I am taking £10 for the week......whatever I don't spend goes into my ISA. Hopefully this will be enough motivation to keep it low, but if I "need" anything, then I have a small budget to allow me to have it without feeling that I am depriving myself!

Will report back later on my success (or otherwise!)

    Have a good day, everyone!

    Hi,
I will spend £10 budgetted on baby stuff as need to stock up on some nappies before the nipper comes- only 4 packs tho as going to use reusables. And got avoucher for 500 points back and £6 off in boots so should cost me 25p!!!!! (After points back!) What a good little MSE-er...
Must also buy some grow bags -2 should be enough, and 2 large troughs for my carrotts and asparagus peas. They are getting so big now!
Maybe also go to ALDI for some sun dried toms for dinner...
Ummmm think that's it today. Does anybod else try and buy everything they need on the same day then aviod the shops like the plague for the rest of the week so they can have NSD's? Or is that just me being sad...
    Have a great day everone...

Hi there everyone, what lovely weather :D

One lot of washing on the line, the other in the machine, nice to know it will dry, without having to stick it on the radiators, no longer use the tumble drier - especially after breaking the door opener when I moved it!! have to open it with a screwdriver now! I think it's going down the tip once hubby is home.

Anyway, I digress, bought a loaf of bread, 2x jars choc spread save 30p, shop brand ketchup all out of food budget, got 2x £2 coins so put them in the pot! So in theory another NSD:D

Yes Jak, I avoid the shops, live 2 mins walk away though, so used to pop up for bread & spend £20-£30 a go, don't do that anymore, thankfully.

Anyways nsd here :T and I have just found out I have won a competiton for one of my cards :) so I am over the moon.

Quite a low weekend - OH paid for dinner on Saturday, I brought him a few bits in B&Q though (he's making us a gorgeous cupboard). £5 in Tesco - deodorant, toothbrush, lunch stuff for me, fruit etc.

Today: £28.20 (budgeted, but BLIMEY) on trainfare.

Good Afternoon PaP, and everyone :hello: :hello: :hello:

As expected, it is a gorgeously sunny day - after a miserable Bank Holiday Monday   .

I am preparing for work, motivated only by the fact that I get paid on Friday. I just hope none of my customers is rude today as I am really not in the mood.

Might buy a bar of 'Smart Price' chocolate - just to cheer me up.

    Enjoy the day everybody.

Sorry meant to say - Good luck with your job Hypno ;)

Well done on the competition Pap & Rog - definately treat yourself to some chocolate, though I'm not so keen on choccy on a hot day myself.

My day has just become fabbaroonie:T got a cheque in the post from HM Revenue & Customs for my Hubbys tax back!! £5,616 !!!!!!,( he's at sea ) will be adding to the rainy day savings, it came really quick too I'm shocked:eek:
Was originally counting on this to help us become debt free by Xmas before the ISA jumped in & paid most of the debt off, wasn't sure whether we'd get this or not, so a major, major bonus.
