  • Play comes with full pack, so player, battery, PSU, remote ( and battery ), AV cables, car charger and carry/headrest mount case.

The region hack for this player is as follows :

    Using the remote :

Power On with no DVD in tray ( may need to power on first time from unit )
Press Setup and go to preference screen
    Key in 1, 3, 7, 9
Press down Arrow key until you get to 0
    Press Setup

englishpunk, I would like to make mine multi-regional but I can't find my remote (or for that matter I can't remember if it came with one). Is there another way of doing it?
Hopeless by name, hopeless by nature.
  • if you have a universal remote, just configure it to work with the dvd player. a new one should cost less than a tenner.
  • Thanks dave321, I have searched my house for that damn DVD remote to no avail and I'm convinced I never received one in the first place!

As far as i know it has to be done via the remote ( or a replacement ), but one should have come with your player, if you didn't get one then try calling microdirect and see if they can sort it out for you :)

Looks much like the player that Somerfield were knocking out for £59.99 a few months ago. Should have got one then.

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Name Dropper Photogenic
If you have (or know some one who has) an Ipaq (with ir) then you can use that as a remote control via the Nevo application built into it.

Showing as £79.67 now. Not quite such a bargain any more

Pricerunner shows many Portable DVD players around at the moment from under 50 quid. For example:
    • QED have a 7" (but without battery) for £66.84

Then there's a whole host for around £90 from a variety of retailers.
  • Play comes with full pack, so player, battery, PSU, remote ( and battery ), AV cables, car charger and carry/headrest mount case.

englishpunk, hooray I have found my remote and managed to get to the preference screen but I can't key in any numbers. Any chance you could explain it in a more Janet and John fashion as I am also hopeless with technology as well as money and numerous other things.

    TIA
