ooh another thing i have just remebered. If the other half earns alot more than you. Work out how much the bills cost in total say £1000 per month. Then work out how much of the total income you bring in, if you earn £1000 per month but OH earns £3000 then you brin in 25% of the household income. Therefore agree that you pay 25% of the bills eg £250 per month. But be prepared to do it the other way round if circumstances change.0

Thanks for advice.
Trying really hard to be good :-)
Any birthday money going towards debt.
Beth's total spend today: 19.32 - on petrol thus unavoidable :-(
Thanks for advice, don't want to tell husband yet, but am keeping note of how much I spend on food. He earns nearly 3x what I do and is due a 25k bonus!!!! Pkus he has a company car so petrol, tax, mot, insurance etc paid for and a company mobile so bill paid. Think I'm in the wrong career!
Sometimes feel cheated cos I actually work more hours but for MUCH less gain.
Will try and work out bills as suggested. At the moment 90% of my money goes on bills, although includes by 200 off cc bills I suppose.

Hi Beth
No more pearls of wisdom (I peaked early) but just wanted to post to say how lovely it is to see you still on here, it sounds like you are doing well and being quite disciplined - don't be too strict with yourself though, there are normally ways to do things on the cheap, just pop on here with 'argh it will cost a fortune' dilemmas, there will be loads of advice, we are all cheapskates on here :rotfl:£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)
