we took a washing machine to the scrap yard and was paid a fiver and a fiver for a microwave:eek: no wonder there isnt as much flytipping of metals:rolleyes: could have took it to the council dump and got nothing,to be updated:;)0

we still get one occasionally on his horse and cart - you only know he is approaching because he yells 'MAAAAG MOOOAAAAEEE' or something as he comes up the street - I believe it is supposed to be 'rag and bone' but it really is very hard to tell!!0

I saw a rag and bone man with a horse the other week. Last saw one 30 years ago.:eek: If I've had scrap metal I've put in in my driveway and within a few days, I usually get a scrap man driving a van asking if they can take it.0

we still have one about every 2 weeks, has been great less trips to the dump for us as we have been doing a house extention and clearing out they have been a great help to us

I have vague recollections of getting a goldfish off the one who used to come round our way.0 -
We used to get bars of 'household soap' (Green Fairy or Yellow Sunlight) or blocks of 'donkey stone' (for the steps) off ours (50's).0
