Mortgage Application & Unsecured Debt

Hi all,

Ill get straight to the point with my situation.

I have applied to the halifax and have been accepted on a mortgage (my uncle as guarantor). I have mentioned that i have around £20k of debt to my name and to get the acceptance, I have informed them that it will be paid of prior to completion. The mortgage was accepted with a 'A' credit rating.

Now, I will have no problem in financing the mortgage once i have it but there is no guarantee that I will be able to pay the 20k off and therefore it is possible that because of these conditions, i could have the application stopped at the last minute because of the "affordability".

Therefore, i am trying to look for options...

1. Will they check again for this?
2. Is it possible that my parents could write a letter signed by both of them stating that they will take on the monthly payments for this.
3. What other options do i have for this.

Basically, is there anything i can negotiate with halifax to not pay this debt just yet.

Can anyone help?? not sure if i have given enough information but any advice will be fantastic.

Thank you in advance

    This is mortgage fraud.

Whats the point in getting a mortgage that is unaffordable?

Whats the point risking a prision sentance and/or a fine?

Just forget it, walk away, find something cheaper or wait until you can afford a mortgage without having to lie to get it.
