Just started DMP but getting lots of hassle from a creditor

Hi all DFW

Thanks to all your kind advice we are now starting our DMP with CCS, I made the first payment over the weekend via online banking and CCCS have just sent out the letters to everyone, they already had our notification of DMP two weeks ago.

Problem is one of our biggest creditors, is phoning us every single day, sometimes two to three times a day and leaving messages, they are also texting my husband as the card was in his name.

I realise we owe them money and we are in no way trying to avoid paying, they wont have got the letter yet but being phoned at 8.30pm when you have two small children (one is 20 months old) is getting a bit upsetting.

When they phoned and asked for husband (who was not in) I said look we have set up a DMP with CCCS, I know you probably havent got notification of it yet but please can you just not ring us at night, to which I got a snotty answer. GGrrrr

Any advice welcome

Write to them (make it recorded delivery so you know when they get it) saying that they they can contact you only via post - then they must stop ringing you.

I had a problem with BOS / Halifax. Even when I had it in writing that they would not contact me via phone and the contact stopped - a few months later they did it again. I made a complaint and have not heard from them again

I've just started last month on a DMP with CCCS and a couple of my creditors keep phoning. I ignore them. I have caller display so I see the number and let it go into answerphone. I won't speak to them as I can't pay any more than I am paying them through my DMP and I don't want hassle. If you do answer the phone to them, don't answer the security questions, just tell them you are on a DMP with CCCS and give them your CCCS client number and put the phone down.

As Miss Marple says - send them a letter and ask for contact in writing only. I do still get hassle from some that I've sent letters to but I make a note of the dates and times that they have called and will then complain if it continues for much longer.
