Yes, we would all do the same (well I would!) ... but most of us would not also put across the holier than thou all for the good of the MSE community spiel, when anyone with any sense knows the true motivation behind his work.
Sorry, this is a BIG bugbear of mine!
Thank you. At least somebody else has spotted the real motives.I am a Mortgage Consultant and don't like to be told what I can and can't put in a signature so long as it's legal and truthful.0 -

Lol...can't help but agree here "When you're right no one remembers. When you're wrong no one forgets." :rolleyes:0 -
There could be a lot of people accused of liking their own voice on here - you have to when you do the job we do

I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. This signature is here as I follow MSE's Mortgage Adviser Code of Conduct. Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as financial advice.0 -
I hate my own voice, is it any wonder I became an accountant! :cheesy:
Not much talking..... yet."I'm not from around here, I have my own customs"
For confirmation: No, I'm not a 40 year old woman, I'm a 26 year old bloke!0 -
You should be washing your mouth out with soap and then going to press the Thanks button on meanmachine's post. It was seriously good advice, lined up with your position and with the state of the world today.no_more_debt_2006 wrote: »if you want to give me commets then do so but dont be immature and cheeky I dont want immature kid replying to this thanks.!!!!!!
But then, I suppose that you wanted your fancy tickling rather than hearing what you didn't want to hear, even if the advice would stop you falling in to a very deep hole. Somehow, I don't think you are qualified to comment on other people's maturity. After the uprising of the 17th June The Secretary of the Writers Union
Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier In that case for the government
To dissolve the people
And elect another?0 -

I'm not that Naive. I'm aware of the real motives but must admit I would have done the same myself. Still can't complain about how things have worked out. If I hadn't have caught Martin on GMTV I would never have claimed back my bank charges or found this site and learnt all the money saving tips etc.DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 19017/05/08 - Total on DMP: £10025.7007/05/14 - Total on DMP: £1666.20 DFD: July 2017!!Baby Tomos born 5th June 2009 - 6lb 5oz :jWeight Loss Target - to lose 60.8lb by NYE 2015 - 37.6lb TO GO0 -

As I've said, I'd applaud him for this site and what you can learn from others. A lot is just common sense.I am a Mortgage Consultant and don't like to be told what I can and can't put in a signature so long as it's legal and truthful.0 -

I have no problem with the motive behind the site and his TV and Radio appearances etc, I just have issues with the quality of his 'Advice'. He's not qualified to give 'Advice' and so shouldn't. But when he gives his 'Opinion' this is totally legal. The problem is, his 'Opinion' is often wrong or flawed in some way and when he goes on the TV or Radio giving his 'Opinion' unfortunately the vast majority of the public take it as gospel. After all, "it must be because he's on the telly"
The FSA need to regulate TV Journalists giving 'Opinions' as it's becoming a joke and rather dangerous.
I'm well aware that he has then taken on board comments from qualified advisers when he's been pulled up on issues, but by then the damage is done.
When you are expressing 'Opinions' on regulated matters you need to be very careful that it isn't coming across as 'Advice' if you don't want to be done for 'Advising' without authorisation.I am a Mortgage Consultant and don't like to be told what I can and can't put in a signature so long as it's legal and truthful.0 -

I don't really have time to watch GMTV in the morning due to my long commute into London everyday, I have only seen him a couple of times.
You would think he would be adviced before he makes a comment? You would hope.Best Comp wins[/B]: , Holiday to Las Vegas worth £3K, £200 shoes, £130 ASOS voucher, £150 River Island Voucher, £100 Toni & Guy Voucher, £250 Red Letter Day Voucher, Holiday to NYC[/COLOR]0
