Dye question - pattern/fabric

Hello
I want to dye some old tops of mine black, two are plain cotton so no probs, but one is a) patterned and b) made out of a viscose / polyester mix. The pattern isn't printed on the surface (like a transfer) but it's not "woven" either.
Has anyone had any experience or disasters with patterns or this fabric?
Not sure whether to risk it or not!
Thanks,
Helen

I don't think you can dye man-made fabrics.....0

Googled a well known brand of dye and answered my own question, kind of...
"
Q
What fabrics can I dye?
A
Cotton, linen and viscose will dye to the full shade shown on the pack Mixtures of these with polyester will result in lighter shades Polyester, Nylon and other synthetics can not be dyed Wool and silk can be dyed with DYLON Hand Fabric Dye.
If you're not sure whether a fabric is suitable for dyeing give our friendly experts a call."
