chocolate pudding

Hello all,

Am making this chocolate self saucing pudding for dinner :j

http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/7789/chocolate+self+saucing+pudding

I made it last week and it was delicious. It makes enough for 4 (or 5 really) and as there's only 2 of us I was wondering if I could freeze half of the batter (? seems the most appropriate word, but don't think it's right) uncooked?

For those who can't be bothered to read the recipe, it's got an egg, some milk (I use rice milk), SF flour, butter (non-dairy used here), cocoa and sugar.

I can't see any reason why not but I'm a bit of a novice at all of this and for all I know the SF flour might implode or something:D

Sounds delish. I'm not sure if I'd freeze the batter. I think I'd be more inclined to freeze the cooked pudding & then re-heat in the microwave. That way you have the sauce as well.

    Thanks Aussie!

It is delicious, but I'm sure it's incredibly bad for you! Oh well.

I've been indulging myself since moving here, high quality stuff is (generally) so much cheaper than in the UK so I've been using Belgian cocoa powder and adding Belgian dark chocolate drops from a chocolate shop at the market. YUM!!

I make a version of this pudding but without the egg. Leaving the egg out will make it easier to halve the ingredients. We find it reheats well in the microwave though.

    My recipe is here.

I was looking everywhere for that recipe Thriftlady. I eventually gave up. I really must get better with the search button.

    That recipe is lovely.

Thanks thriftlady, we were going to halve it but the 1 egg rather stumped us :D

It is a lovely recipe, there are many variations of such puddings about. My version is from Cooking From Quilt Country by Marcia Adams (an American book) -just to clear up any copyright issues :D:p

I'd hate for you to get into trouble over the copyright!

There's a lovely lemon one from Delia, I'll have a look for the recipe

Just in case anyone should be in doubt this is not my recipe and I am not claiming the copyright;)

Couldn't find a link to Delia's but this one seems to be the same. It's a truly delicious pudding - I love lemon things so I tend to be quite generous with the lemon and a little stingy with the sugar - I don't like sweet lemon things if that makes sense.

Actually, now that I look at it, I don't know that Delia's had that many eggs in it

So it's your own receipe...you must make sure you copyright it then:D

Must admit thought, that other thread has had me laughing:rotfl:

You're right! Consider it copyright. I'll make my fortune off that, you just watch ;)
