    Thanks for the suggestions - I'd love to do the mystery shopping, but we moved to Germany in Jan and I'm not fluent in German yet!

    Re : the carpet cleaner - I love freecycle and have used it a lot in the UK. I've not looked into a group here, so will have a look tonight. I'm 95% sure I'm going to wait before buying one, but with 2 small children it would be so handy after their 'accidents' I think I'm going to ask friends if I could borrow theirs. Cheeky I know, but I'd rather cook them a thank-you meal than fork out at the moment.

    Typing this is giving the motivation not to buy one.... I read on someone's thread limiting debt is about Needing something rather than wanting it. I don't need it... I wanted it!
