XBox & GTA4 Package Deal

I just thought I'd let anyone interested know..

I've been looking for an XBox 360 + GTA4 for the past few days, and struggled to find anyone with GTA4 in stock, let alone anyone who had it at a good price.

However, i stumbled across a cracking deal at Argos of XBox 360, GTA4 & Halo 3 for a total of £208.71 [saving over £70 on RRP!] and they had all of them in stock fairly near to me.

I also checked this against PC World with their 110% Price Match and they said they would honour the difference, however, they have no stock across the country. If you did manage to find a store with them in stock you'd pay approx £201/202.

I hope that helps someone.. I'm off to find a big telly.. :rotfl:

Does anyone know where GTA IV is in stock in Argos in the east midlands? I can't find it anywhere, and I really want to get the deal...

This deal was only available until 05/05/08 & most Argos branches sold out on the first day of the offer.

I too have been looking for this deal, and it is on until the 20th of may, clearly states on the website but have been checking daily and GTA is not in stock anywhere but the controller and Halo 3 are, do argos do anything where you could buy the deal and go back to get the GTA when they have them in stock??

Sorry - I assumed it had finished on 05/05 as my local branch had taken all of thier posters down that were advertising this offer. :rolleyes:

I asked the branch manager if i could pay for this & then collect a copy of GTA when it was back in stock & he said he wasn't allowed to do that - he had to physically give it to me at time of purchase , he also wouldn't substitute the game for another one of the same value that was in stock.

When I add xbox 360, halo 3, GTA IV to my trolley on argos.com it totals £229.18

saving £50.47

The deal states it should save £63

If I add a controller the price becomes £248.91 - this is saving £63.47

I'm not too sure where this £208 has come from-but if you look in the Argos sale brochure the GTA4 and Halo 3 Package is £229.20.
Nowhere that I can find in the Midlands has copies of GTA4.

Having visited Wolverhampton's Bentley Bridge store today we've been told that new stock will be received at branches on the 25th May-after the deal end date (20th May) and that under no circumstances could the deal be honoured as it would all have to be paid for on collection.

However, after a little sweet talking my OH miraculously got the adviser to ok with her manager for us to take away the console and Halo 3 today-at the price of the full package and has given us a receipt to confirm collection of GTA4 for free on the date the stock comes in!!
A grateful thankyou to the store manager commending the member of staff sealed the deal!!
Over the moon and just twiddling our thumbs/controller till the 25th May rolls round.
I'd read on another thread that someone else had tried this tack and it hadn't worked-but clearly it depends on your store. Good Luck!!
