Question regarding Balance Transfers

Hi,probably the wrong board to post on but hopefully someone can help me. OH applied for a Barclaycard & was accepted,as I have been turned down from the last 2 CC's that I have applied for. The APR is 6.5% for LOB. We have an overdraft of 13.35% & I have a Mint card at 12.9% which I owe nothing on. I can pay off the overdraft with Mint card, but would OH be able to transfer the balance of the Mint Card onto her Barclaycard, as the Mint card is in my name? Thanks In Advance.

Haven't got the foggiest but get hubby to give them a call and see if he can do a balance transfer from a debt that isn't in his name and see what they say.£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)

Sorry LTM
Haven't got the foggiest about that either, I suspect different cards have different policies - the missus could ask when she activates.:D£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)

Shouldnt be any problem. Companys do ask if the other card is in your name, but they have no why of checking really. MBNA (who I work for) do a lot of paper balance transfers - aplications and those little slips that come with statements. We also get a lot of internet requested transfers - in total roughhly 5000 a day - we wouldnt be able to verify if all cards were in the same name!! We never actually check that the other card is in the same name.No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.
