Facebook account but someone elses name

I know what im about to ask isnt related to the forum but im after advice if theres any to give, i had an email the other day in my gmail account regarding the facebokk account i had setup, i thought it was spam so i put it my trash and today i thought id check it out so i went to facebook clicked on the forgotten password link and requested a new password so i got the forgotten password email and copied the link into my browser and had a look at the page which ive setup, its in the name of a christian petry with a birth date of January 24, 1988,
is it worth worrying about and try and do something or shall i just deactivate the account, it could be a general mistake and christian entered the email address wrong but surely with an email address you wouldnt enter it wrong without checking it first, if it isnt a mistake then id like to know how he got my email address, i dont give it out as i dont use it often

I know nothing about facebook, have never joined.

But the one thing that comes to mind is how did that person sign up with your email address?

Surely when you join they send an email with a confirmation link, which you have to click on to confirm that you have given your email address.

If someone accidently entered your email address when signing up they would never have received the confirmation email. Therefore could not have completed the sign up process.

If they changed thier email to yours after they signed up you have to find out why. Check the account carefully and see if there is anything dodgy about it. Also make sure facebook know the account is not yours.
