Civil Service Pension To Police Pension

HIi all,
I am after some info re- civil service pension to police pension (as police officer).

I am wondering if the civil service pension i have been paying into for 15 years,can
be transfered to the police scheme and is it worth it?
I would be paying around 16 years into the police scheme looking to finish around the
age of 59

    You can transfer it but only within 6months of joining the police scheme.

    Broadly speaking, unless you took a paycut to join the police, each year in the CS will count as less than 1 year in the police scheme as the police scheme provides beter benefits. You (or your IFA) needs to decide if that loss is worth gaining the link to your final police salary
