What are 'referral fees'?

I have recieved my 6 years of bank statements from Natwest, alot of the fees are 'referral fees' what are they? They are up to £75 each. There are also fees (not every month, but almost) which say the date then my account number and no other info. I was paying £6, then £8, then £10 and now £12 a month for the account, but these other amounts are £30-£40. I have an overdraft of about 2000, could it be for that and if so can I claim them back?
I have trawled through the other threads but couldn't find anything.
It looks like I should be claiming about £3000!!
