It’s ALWAYS best to try different codes when ordering items and never order from main catalogue codes. What I mean by that is try removing the first 3 digits of the order code and prefacing them with these order codes Eg try y23, h71 (both very good codes) or try y22, y21, a23, a24, a25 to see what gives you the best price.

For example you want to order Viking paper and you go to the main catalogue and see the code is G23-EAG210 which is £5.49 per ream (plus vat) BUT

A25-EAG210 is £3.59
Y23-EAG210 is £2.99
And h71-eag210 is just £2.12

TIP
IF you use the “order by catalogue number” option it will give you a price – BUT this shows the “best price” (which might be the bets price if you order say 10 and not 1) So if you are ordering in small quantities it is best to go to your trolley (view trolley and then type in the codes there to see the prices for individual items)

Just want to say thanks for this post. I was after a new chair and decided on the Malaga High Back Leather Faced Chair Black from Viking. I know I can get a similair chair for £30 but I can get this with the free Hifi (free dvd not working). I did need to spend a penny though as the minimum spends are without VAT. SO decided on some paper. Cheapest was £4.10 but using the H71 code I got it for £1.89!!

And I used quidco!!

Sorry to bump this thread but I am looking to buy through Viking direct and just wondered if there are any current codes. All I have found so far is £10 off a £100 spend (hukd) but I am only spending £45 plus vat (would add a small something if a code would give me a better benifit). Can anyone help??

Hot Lips, I don't know of any codes at the moment, the best thing to advise is to follow the OP's tip of changing the prefix in the product codes, I've found that the H71 prefix is particulary very good, having recently saved my company £300 in one order (and putting me in the good books :-))

On an aside to that try using the prefix PSH instead as in some cases this makes it even cheaper (although this code is supposed to be aimed at specific customers I have found it is giving further money off a lot of products, and without having to buy in bulk)

Thanks phsychoduck. I have ordered the item I wanted now and had it delivered already!!! Now have a catalogue so will always take note of the advice to change the code pre-fixes when I make another order.
