    Hi,

I called ebay on the number given (snail post form) because my coupon didn't work. I bought an ebay item and when I went to paypal to pay, the code was rejected. I was told by the member of ebay staf that ebay itself pulled the coupon offer. I asked if we would be reimbursed and the answer was a resounding NO. He also said there had been MANY complaints.

As I followed all instructions to the letter, and ebay has stopped the usability of the code (but has not sent an email to those customers they sent it to to warn us not to use it), and as ebay have said no to reimbursement, what can we do? There must be some legal safeguard for people in this position?

I did say in a forum on ebay not to use the coupon but the page was pulled by ebay.

    I look forward to comments.
    Thanks
    Sue ~

I wonder if anyone can help? I was sent a code by Ebay for £5.00 off any thing bought. I used the code in the Pay Pal bit and yes it knocked £5.00 off the total. However, when I later checked Pay Pal, the origional full amount had been taken out? Does it take a while for the money to be reimbursed.
    Thanks

I have also had problems with this code and have spoken a few times to the customer service number that they sent with the code. In addition, I received an email with the code encouraging me to use it. I have not received any indication that I should not use the code, nor has the customer service representatives mentioned anything about the code having been pulled. I was told that a lot of other people have had problems with the code as well. I have been told that my case has been escalated to the technical folks, if they find a fix I will let you know.

*update* ebay has fixed the problem and I was able to use the voucher today

Hi again and re my first posting,
I have written numerous email to ebay and they have made things really difficult by not answering questions and have now passed me to paypal .. and paypal say it's ebay .. and ... and nothng has changed. I wrote about this in the ebay bulletin board (along with many other complainers) and guess what .. the page was pulled by ebay!

I would love to kow if anyone gets reimbursed by ebay!

PS, ultracheap, you said that you were able to use the coupon now. But, if it didn't work the first time, you had to initially spend money to find the code didn't work. So, this time, did you have to buy a new item in order to use the code?

    Sue, again x

The codes are normally debited straight away once you complete the paypal payment and on your payment page if you bought an item for £10 it will say papyapl funds £5, coupon £5.

I have only ever had one ebay code the other week which was "charm2" and that worked fine as never bothered trying a code that has not been emailed to me as ebay / paypal codes are always account specific so if you have not been contacted directly by ebay/paypal with a code it wont work

Success! Re my first posting where I was told (by ebay) that ebay had pulled the coupon code and no one would be reimbursed - I have been given my £10 back! It took a while and I had to keep repeating my case but paypal put the money back in my account.
