I bought my first steam generator off bid up TV for around £35 and I was very impressed, unfortunately it broke down about 8months later and they gave me a refund as they had no more in stock. After watching bid up for another month or two to no avail I bought a morphy richards generator from Macro for about £45. That was about a year ago but I've recently seen TJ Hughes selling the same model for around the same price.

I've never gone back to an ordinary iron and that 2 months without my generator was absolute hell, definately one of my best buys.

In the special offer section of the Morphy Richards website, the Jet Stream 2200W steam generator iron is £32.50 delivered.

I've got this one - thought I was getting a good deal from Sainsbury's in january when I paid £70 for it - I find it really efficient - 2 minutes heating up time and I'm really pleased with the results (ironed shirts!)
Bear in mind it takes up a lot of storage space though and you need to stand by an open window really to let the excess steam out whilst you are ironing.
I am no authority on ironing though (as most people would agree) - but in my opinion this is a good deal!!:j
