A P46 has already been signed in this case - it looks as if the employer has lost it or doesnt know what to do. The poster must contact HMRC to get it sorted.
A P46 will not put you on emergency code at this stage of the year - it will put you on 543L cumulative until 25 May, when E code will be applied.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0 -

A P6 is the form which HMRC sends to your employer with your code number on it. Please, just ring HMRC and tell them that your employer is ignoring/has lost the p46! I can't bear the thought of you paying all that tax.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0

I can't bear the thought of paying all the tax either, it makes me sick when I look at my pay slip.
