I'm so angry I could scream!!!!!

I posted this thread a few days ago

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=886435

I've received the copy of the gas cert, and when I say copy, it's a photocopy, NOT my hard copy which I should have received.

It's dated and signed for the 3rd Jan this year and had the gas fire, hob and boiler checks on it.

The fire and hob weren't touched by the Corgi guy!!

I posted on here on the 4th Jan asking for advice, so why the hell would I do that if he'd been and done the checks the day before?!!

I've got it in writing here from the agents that the check was done in December 07 ~ LIES!!!!!

I could murder someone right now, I'm that MAD about it!

The Corgi guy is lying, the agents are lying ~ this is bloody serious when you consider there could be a problem with the fire and hob!!

ARGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They crystal colour change ones are about £10 in Homebase too, but I noticed them at £5 in Tesco. I know it's maybe not the area to be MSE lol, but they are so expensive it's worth trying to save ...

Is the tenant meant to get the original? Surely the LL, who has paid for the check has to keep this for his records?

This has made me wonder: If a new tenant moves in after a gas/electricity check has been conducted but is still valid and the original certificate went to the previous tenants who did not return it how can the LA or LL give the new tenants the original?

Surely they wouldn't have to get a whole new check done purely to get a peice of paper?

I have to admit as a LL, I would not be impressed if I had to get a whole new appliance check done just to get a certificate when the pervious one hasn't even expired yet

That is really cheap - the last ones I saw in Homebase were £30 each, must nip to B&Q and pick one up, we've had a scary carbon monoxide incident with our LL and I'm not taking chances anymore.

The forms come in triplicate, in different colours - one for the LL, one for the tenant and one for the LA, if there is one. I'm not sure how it works but I'd assume that the tenant should return a valid certificate when they move out? I know that you're supposed to be given one on moving in to a flat.

Shell you have caught them with their pants down so dont be surprised that they will now try every trick in the book to avoid being caught out. Its just so annoying you are right and have to waste your time proving it, good luck xx

I've just phoned the agents, who have realised that the dates didn't match, so they rang the Corgi guy.

He's just rang me and said he remembered doing it, so I asked him why he had told the agents in December he had done it, when the sheet is dated January?

He said maybe he put the wrong date on it?!

He said he remembered doing it because he was here for about 2 hours, I said Yes, because it took you 2 hours to fix a part when fixing the boiler!!

He said he would come out and do it next week.

I'm so mad that he has lied, why bloody lie !!!!!!!

The sheet even has pressure readings on it, pressure readings from what?! That he made up in his head?!

There are 3 sheets per record. I have received a copy of one of the sheets, not an original sheet.
