I currently own one property which I rent out and am currently living at home with parents. I have a buy to let mortgage with the west bromwich which is on a 2 year discount of 0.5% which is coming o the end of the discount period. I am looking at remortgage for a low interest rate my current rate is 6% and will increase to 6.5% next month. I would like to move into this property at some point in the next few years but I would also like a fixed rate mortgage. Are there any mortgage companies that will allow me to rent the property out and then move in when I choose. All the buy to let mortgage company say that myself or any family member are not allowed to live in the property.

If you moved in you would need to change to residential mortgage status - however having tie ins with thelender may mean there could be a penalty to pay to get off the current mortgage product
