HELP ------Free penguin party tickets

Hi all

i applied for the Free tickets for the penguin party and recieved an email offereing me a "special limited edition wallpaper" lol. dont know if anyone else got this to? but when the email was sent it had all the people it went to, there email addresses attached in the cc box, is this allowed?
I mean i dont really want a hundred people who got the mail to see my email address if i dont know them.

is there anything i can do or should i do anything about it?

ur advice would be appreciated

I would email them and explain the error & say that you are not happy that all these people have your email address. This happened with 3 network phones they sent an email out to everyone enough people complained that they re emailed us & gave us a free mains or car charger for phone. But to be honest I havn't had anymore spam etc which I thought I would from other people knowing me email address

the same thing happened to me too, and i wasn't happy either! I just wrote them an email asking why they did this and surely they could have used Bcc so noone could see each other's email address. I'm waiting for a reply, will let you know if they get back to me.

i got that didnt think to do anything about it just deleted it. wont be applying to them again

well i emailed them and complained that i wasnt happy about what had happened and that apologising and sending a wallpaper for the computer as a replacement for a day out was not on.
Got another email saying that they would give me 4 free tickets to the event tomorrow and so me and the family going for to the PENGUIN PARTY tomorrow and the lady who mailed me said i was to come and find her so should personally apologise for the mistake.

well why not try giving them a call i got an email with an apology and asking me to call them back when i said i didnt see the point in calling them back unless they were going to do something about the mistake then to let me know. (god knows what they would do) But anyway she mailed me back saying that she just wanted to apologise and offer me the free tickets. But the event is on tomorrow 11am till 4pm. so maybe she may have another offer for you u can only try.

This would technically be a breach of the Data Protection Act as they had disclosed your personally identifiable information to other people without your consent.
