I'm selling but they won't guarantee

Hi guys

After much researching and Qs I have decided to surrender my Norwich Union endowment back to them. None of the 3 well known endowment buyers/sellers can better NU.
Q I have is, I have been quoted just short of 15K but they want me to write to them confirming my decision and they say it will take 15 days to turn around. They will not guarantee the sum!!. I know its unlikely to drop lots in this time period, but to not give me a figure in order to plan....I think is a bit out of order.
What other experiences are there ??

They cannot give you guarnatee on the figure as the value can change daily. They can give you a value of what it would be today and you appear to have that based on your post. So, it appear they have given you the figure you wanted. I cannot see a problem here.

    ????

You said you have been quoted a value of just short of £15k. Yet you are saying they are not giving you a value and that is out of order.

So, as your post reads, you have got the information you said you wanted.

  • ooops, didnt mean to thank, meant quote! doh.

Not sure i would expect them to guarantee the amount... If its invested then it'll change daily as per the first reply! Why dont you ask them to Guarantee is till Sept so you can make your mind up after the summer? hmmmm

thanks for the thanks!! Erm the just short of 15k could not be guaranteed, I now understand why re interest / movement in mkt etc. What I was trying to get at was he would not / could not commit to the sum even though I started the process of selling

but anyway thankyou all for you comments
