If you have a NR "Together" mortgage my advice is to get it checked out by any free mortgage audit companies out there, as issues have been identified within this mortgage product on loans taken out prior to 2006.

if taken in 2007 the issues I speak of do not apply to your loan.

I have a northern rock together mortgage which I took out in 2001 and then remortgaged in 2004, does this apply to me and if so how?
I don't understand what that would mean for me and everyone else in the same situation.

I'm on the Northern Rock SVR, have been since my fixed rate ran out in Jan.

I couldn't get another mortgage back then as I was over committed (was living off credit cards as well as being self employed!) but am now kinda back on track and hope to re-apply to First Direct (I am a current customer so at least eligible to apply).

    You can but ask OP........

Yes the chances are that it applies to you too.
There is a good chance that you are due some compensation. There are a number of cases already running with solicitors regarding these issues with this lender.
I do not really need to spell out the implications do I?

Thanks for the info. Would my next step be taking all my paperwork to get it checked out by a solicitor. If so are most of the solicitors in the know about this situation. Also is Martin in the know about this or is it just a solicitor that would have more information about it.

    Hello

Just reading this my partner and I were on a together mortgage took out in 2001 also, we changed our deal to another with NR in 2006 as after our initial rate ran out we were tied to the SVR for several more years hence changing to another fixed rate made more sense but we faced high penalties doing this.
I would be really grateful for any info you could let me have.
Our house is on the market now and we want to get away from NR if we can help it.
If you could pm me I would be very grateful.

    Thankyou

    Kerry
