Working from home - best ways of making money?

Due to circumstances, my partner is virtually housebound and we are looking for ways of topping up our income with her working from home. What are the best ways of doing this? We don't want to get sucked into any dodgy "get rich quick" schemes, so any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

    Hi Stu,

You'll get loads of ideas from this forum and also find the once to avoid too. We are all in the same boat here - looking for something to do from home (mainly) to increase our incomes.

    Good luck

Just keep looking, read the threads, ask for information and make up your own mind.
There are good work from home businesses out there, they are not all scams.

    Hi,

I used to work in a bank as a mortgage advisor (hated it). So i quit and decided to work from home too. I work as a trader, trading the forex markets and UK stock markets. The neat thing is, I dont pay any tax, as all gains from spreadbetting are tax free.

However, its not an easy career, as you can lose. If you are an amateur i would try it with demo money 1st, or do it part time. However, I do subscribe to some professional services which can keep me on the right side of the trend. PM if you are interested. If you get good, it truly is the best career one can have, because of freedom and money.

    Regards,

    Arhurdaly

Can you explain this as I've always thought trading on the stock markets and spread betting were two different things?

No, if you use a spreadbetting company you can execute trades across a variety of financial instruments from bonds, shares, commodities, forex etc. Gains within the spreadbetting wrapper are tax free.

Still don't understand. I thought trading shares was when you bought and sold shares, and spreadbetting was when you bet on which way the shares would go.
