Help Me!!!

Hi all
a bit of background.....I'm 21 years old and in around 17k's worth of debt, idiocy being young and stupid are all factors of my problem. I owe 8k to a loan, 8k on a car and 1000 on my tele. I need to be debt free i'm scared of loosing everything i have got.

My mum has got cancer and is unable to work, I cant even afford to pay her board and I am starting to hate myself for putting everyone around me through all the heartache!

I am scared i'll loose my girlfriend too. I already run two jobs just to get by and things are not getting any easier, I dont even know where to start, any advice is greatly appreciated!

Many Thanks

Lee

Hi Lee, I'm up to my eyes in debt also so can't offer a lot of assistance but sure someone else will very soon

usually people ask you to post a statement of affairs (soa) which lists income and expenditure so they can advise, I'm new here and have received great advice so far :D
Money doesn't make you happy so I'm skint but cheerful

    Hi Lee:j

Well done for posting. Facing up to the problem is the first step. Although you do have big debts, they are managable and you are very young, so should have loads of energy! First things first. Read through the stickys at the top of this board. Post a SOA and include all your debts with APRs. The clever peeps will be along to point out where you can make savings and which debts to pay off. If your GF leaves you because of this, she won't be in for the long term anyway! Don't panic and good luck

The hardest step has been made, now the second worse step is to do your SOA, which is great relief when you have done it, plus you get loads of great advice.
Have a look at all the threads about making extra cash from websites like pigsback, etc. You then get vouchers, cash etc for the clicks and maybe you could give your mum the vouchers to help out.
    Good Luck.
