Dyeing Cashmere - anyone tried it?

Hi OSers. Have any of you tried dyeing cashmere and if so with what results? I've got a pink cashmere jumper which has gone a bit 'grey' and faded. There's nothing wrong with it apart from looking a bit tired. Seems a shame to sling it and I was wondering if the colour could be freshened up with dye. Thanks in advance.

I've never tried dyeing cashmere but as it's a natural fibre my guess is that it would take dye quite well. The problem might be that the fibres matt or felt together but I'm guessing that if it's already faded you have washed it before? Maybe a cold water dye would work...
If you're only going to get rid of it anyway, what have you got to lose by giving it a go? Good luck.

Thanks, Mrs F. I've washed it numerous times (first gently by hand, then as I got more blase and it got older, in the machine on the handwash cycle and it's kept it's shape and hasn't matted!). I suppose, like you say, nothing to lose!0

No problem! I'd love to know if it works though so please let us know if you go ahead with it.
